Terms of Service

01What this Service is — and is not

The Service helps you record and view your own financial information: investments, income, expenses, goals, credit cards and loans. It is a record-keeping and visualisation tool.

It is not an investment adviser, broker, portfolio manager or financial planner, and nothing in it is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security. We are not registered with SEBI in any advisory capacity. Figures, projections, returns and insights shown are informational only. Decisions you make with your money are yours; consult a qualified adviser before acting.

02Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering a binding contract. The Service is designed for use in India and figures are presented in Indian rupees.

03Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything done under your account.
• Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has accessed your account.
• Provide accurate information. The Service can only be as correct as what you enter.

04Shared households

The Service lets two people share one household. This is the part of the Service most worth understanding before you use it.

• When you join a household, the other member can see the financial data in it — holdings, income, expenses, goals and balances. Only join a household with someone you intend to share that with.
• An invite code lets someone join your household. Treat it like a password.
• Leaving a household does not retract data already visible to the other member.

05Prices and third-party data

Prices, NAVs and metal rates come from third-party sources and are provided on an “as is” basis. They may be delayed, incomplete, or wrong, and are typically end-of-day rather than live. Gold and silver values are estimates derived from a spot rate and the weight you record — not a dealer quote.

Do not rely on any figure in the Service for trading, tax filing or any decision with legal or financial consequence without checking it against your official statement.

06AI features and Ephemeral Processing

The Service includes an AI assistant that answers questions about the data in your account. Its responses are generated automatically, may be wrong, and are informational only — not financial advice. Every response carries this reminder. See the Privacy Policy for what is and is not sent to the AI provider.

Additionally, by uploading financial documents (like PDFs or CSVs) for dashboard generation, you explicitly consent to their ephemeral processing by our AI providers. These documents are processed in memory to extract the required data and are deleted immediately thereafter.

07Acceptable use

• Do not use the Service unlawfully, or to store data you have no right to hold.
• Do not attempt to access another household’s data, probe or bypass security, or disrupt the Service.
• Do not scrape, resell or redistribute the Service or its content.
• Do not reverse engineer, decompile or copy the Service or any part of it.

08Our intellectual property

The Service — its software, design, branding and content — belongs to mySurplus and is protected by copyright and trade mark law. Using the Service grants you no rights in it beyond a personal, revocable, non-transferable right to use it as intended.

09Your data

The financial information you enter stays yours. You grant us only the permission needed to store it, process it and show it back to you and to any household member you have chosen to share with. How it is handled is set out in the Privacy Policy.

10Availability

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost. Keep your own records of anything that matters to you.

11Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or investment losses arising from your use of the Service, from reliance on any figure or insight it displays, or from inaccuracy in third-party price data. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12Ending your use

You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time from your account settings. Your account will enter a 7-day grace period allowing you to cancel the request, after which all data is permanently erased. We may suspend or end access if these terms are breached, or if required by law. For support: mysurpluss@gmail.com.

13Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When the substance changes you will be asked to accept the new version before continuing to use the Service, and the date at the top of this page will change. Continuing to use the Service after accepting means you agree to the updated terms.

14Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
